The Moth

I am the moth. Who darts threw the night, Searching for the light, The light of happiness, Longing for the hope, The hope of truth. Striving to know myself, To see what is real and true, I go towards the light, It will tell me the truth, And reveal all I want, And all I need, Will surround my empty soul, With all the happiness and joy, Of a time that has just begun. I am the moth, Who has found her home, In the bright warm light, Of a love so pure and good, That if it were taken away, My light would truly fade, Causing all in life, To be dull and bored, Time gives and time takes, But it will never take my light: My one true love. I am the moth.

Much to think about in your words. Nice use of metaphor. Hang onto the light--in light there is hope. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for taking time to comment on my poem. Keep on writing! Have a nice weekend. Karen
