The Most Unexpected Least Expected

looking at her again
i see all the things that i hated about her in a head once young
looking at me again
i can tell that she sees all of the same in me
now look at us
laughing and joking and stealing kisses in between
how the hell can i miss a person who, at one time, i wanted to be around the least
in her eyes, i discover the same unspoken interrogation
as i become the robot that she has trained me to be
i adjust the thermostat like i have no brain and no care
as she becomes the sudden ying to my yang, she removes the covers so that all of me can be exposed to whatever cool air is left
then the quiet moment comes where we reflect
perhaps at times the path to true love is a path through silly hate
looking at each other again, i think pink.....she thinks blue.....
