The Most Powerful Feeling In the World

We were halfway back to school after
Our hot lunch with our mom
of warm grilled cheese sandwiches
dunked in tomato soup

I turned to my twin and said
“We are playing hooky again today”.
She began to bawl and scream.
“No! Please don’t make me.”

It was the most powerful feeling in the world.
We were in first grade, but I have never forgotten it.
I had complete power and control over my helpless twin!

Did we play hooky?
Of course.
And did we get caught?

This is a small Iowa town in the 60’s when
all the mothers were peeking out their windows
and we were identical twins.

What do you think?

Thank you Line. I truly felt more powerful when I looked back into my mind and recalled this moment.

You bet right. We were usually caught before we passed a third window.

Wonderful bit of nostalgia, Caren, with a great ending, "What do you think?" Congratulations on your placement in the contest. Best wishes, Gershon

LOL! My dad and his twin had a picture in the newspaper. They were football players in high school. Basically the caption was asking who is who? I always got a kick out of that.

I am going to guess that they are also identical twins.
