The Morning Walk
It’s October, the fall leaves are all fallen onto the street, where kids and adults, not afraid to be themselves run through them with delight. To hear the sound of them crunching underneath your feet is to live love fall, October is the month in which we our souls long for peace, a sense of renewal.
As we are walking we cannot help but look upwards to see the fall sky had something to catch our eyes, a clear blue canvas to bring a smile to our already joyful face, you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful sight.
As we come upon Oak Hill Park, we are greeted with the smells of warm apple cider, hot cocoa, meets our eyes, the sound of kids being carefree as they should, playing in the mounds of leaves, please take a moment to enjoy thus moment please, aren’t we all kids inside?
The moms take a breather, sipping their hot apple cider, hot cocoa, exhaling from the daily grind of parenting, so many errands, appointments to make, just letting go . A bald eagle has caught their attention soaring high above them, its wings spread out wide, to be free to soar the winds no destination, just to take in the cool crisp October air.
The Morning Walk in the leaves has brought me to this park, so I can quietly reflect on my blessings, all praise to God for He is the Creator of this earth in which we all gathered. I close my eyes in prayer, as the eagle soared away.
