The Moon Over Brixton

Children laughing in the street below Reggae playing on the radio And the smile in your voice when you say ‘Hello’ Let’s me know that the feeling is right And the moon over Brixton is shining tonight Like a Japanese paper light. A warm night; A warm feeling Feels like a tropical evening The kind of night, where it’s easy believing That everything is gonna be right. People greeting everyone they meet Moving their feet to the reggae beat And the look in your eyes makes the picture complete And let’s me feel that the feeling is right While the moon over Brixton is shining tonight Like a Japanese paper light. © Barry Freeman – 10th August 1996
