Notes About The Poem

The Moon

The Moon
(not made of cheese)

Space "cadet",
what a wonderful word,
that means student of the stars.
I gaze up into the heavens,
knowing God is ever close to me,
here or there, I am still,
with Him.

I want to learn, everything.
I want to be the best.
I want to be chosen to be there,
when we set foot...
and stay,
on the bright round eye in the sky.
I want to tell my children,
that it is only the beginning,
and we will go further still.
Our path set,
has only the promise,
of hope,
for all man.

Lord of the Galaxy,
King of my life,
One day I long to go to heaven,
yet...
until I can reach that incredible place,
I will settle for the stars,
as they are the closest thing,
to you in the sky,
the great...
apple pie.
