The Monster and Me
My cold and starving family
Wait now in our well hidden post
Fearing the worst for me I know
While I pursue what we need most
Breathing heavy I dart around
Keeping all directions in check
Sustenance may bare a stiff price
If the monster should grab my neck!
Look there! That is quite a morsel
The monster's so close what a pity
But then I knew, I would get through
When the big voice said, "Here kitty!"
I grab the morsel and off I run
Not stopping 'til I'm in our house
Once again my family is fed
And that's not too bad for a mouse!
