The Mockingbird
Unaware there was a paradigm shift on tv
I heard a mockingbird outside on a nearby tree
new breaking news coming on the tube
why the bird continued to mock, I hadn't a clue
More confusion ensued from my living room view
as I sat on my couch not knowing what to do
trying not to be distracted by the mocking bird
I continued to watch taking in every word
The news people seemed confused themselves
as they tried to convince their ambiguous audience
at first they leaned to the right, then the left
as my mk ultra brain felt even more bereft
I heard the mockingbird chant, fake news, fake news
as I thought this crazy bird doesn't have a clue
sitting there ignoring the bird hypnotized by the screen
I believed every word from the news breaking machine.
