The Mistreatment of Pens

The pen is mightier than the sword
The pen is the copyist of every word
Just don’t combine “pen is” as a paper headline once did report
And it might be mightier because it seeks pleasure and not war

Freedom, intelligence, creativity, determination and diligence
All found in the written sentence
Some say the pen husk plastic is a polluter
I contend that it makes an excellent pea shooter

Don’t force your pen
Don’t cram it in
Don’t sharpen it, it’s not graphite
But have it whenever you want to write

Write a story
Use the quill and the ink
Draw with flaws
Everything you think

You can change “sex, drugs and rock n roll”
To “sex, drums and rock n roll”
With a click and a flick
(But that constant clicking is annoying)

Some are erasable
Invisible ink is untraceable
Pens in all manners and forms
Change an error and revise the norms

Signing for independence
Signing all documents since
Needed for an autograph
Or the rough draft of an epitaph

Pens and the graven stones
Cuneiforms and calligraphies
Writing and writing and writing
Exhausting the pens with ease

In pocket protectors
The nerds become collectors
Maybe give a pen a break
Go use your computer for heaven's sake

So don’t mistreat your pen
Let it stand in a cup holder
Yes, time will pass by
But you can use it when you’re older

Good one. You have a "point" about pens. Much easier to type on a keyboard but not as personal.
