The Missed Call
As I lay in bed all alone
I fight myself to not pick up that phone
Too many broken promises i've heard you say
Too many times I lost at the games you play
This time will be different, you swear
I look over, you're still not there
The missed call sound beeps and I feel proud
Even though part of me wants to scream out loud
I did it, the first step is through
The hard part is actually getting over you
Though I feel it may take all i've got
Im tired of pretending to be someone im not
Moving forward with this broken heart
It all could've been avoided had I ignored you from the start
Yet we do not learn if we never live on chance
I know I will not be a victim of circumstance
You have made me realize I deserve better than that call
Im proud to say I know I can get over it after all
