The Mirror

The Mirror

I look into the mirror
And see a face I know—
Not the young girl I once was,
But the woman time did grow.

Lines of laughter,
Traces of tears,
Stories written
Through the years.

Behind my eyes, a spark remains—
Of who I was, before the pain.
Yet I see in my children’s eyes
The same fire, the same skies.

They speak as I once spoke,
Defiant, brave, and free—
I wonder if they know
They are reflections of me.

The mirror tells no lies—
It shows both past and now.
The girl I was, the mother I am,
Still learning somehow.
