The Mind: Thy Mine; Thy Mire

I know not one Who is not and cannot be The best of the world And be in the world of the best I know not one who is and cannot be The joy of the world And have the world of joy And, I know not one Who is not and cannot be The worst of the world And be the in the world of the worst I know not one Who is not and cannot be the miserable of the world And be in the world of misery I know not one Who is not and cannot be The poor of the world And be in the world of the poor I know not one Who thinks it and is not it And who doesn’t and isn’t it As you think, so you’re I think, and so I am I don’t, I am not In thy mind, oh! My people!! Lies your destiny, your mine of gold And mire of wastes There lay; your power your poverty
