The Mighty Horse Am I

"the mighty horse am I"
let me run in the spring everything is new I'll find a path for me and you
the mighty horse am I
come summer under the sun place me along the shore we'll feel the breeze evermore
oh but autumn just let me be me by myself unbridled and strong in this moment nothing is wrong
still the mighty horse am I
come winter with glitter of white I'll breathe with ease you'll see through snow we'll travel all night
no matter what season or time I will forever run as meant to be let me mesmerize you greater than springtime
always the mighty horse am I

Amen to that repetition!!...as a horse lover I've always said...I've seen a lion. but I've seen the king! Lynn Marie suggested I visit my fellow horse lover, and I am so glad I did :)...this is Fantastic!...love it :) If you decide to visit me, start with "4 White Horses"...love them...love them...love this piece...love this piece...all repetition is intentional :)

Good Morning Chris. It is very nice to meet you. Thank you for visiting my page. I'm honored Lynn Marie suggested my entries. I have such respect for her and her work. She is a marvelous poetess. It is always nice to meet another horse lover. I no longer ride however I will never forget my riding days and all the experiences I had. There is nothing like the bond between horse and rider and the understanding between them. I love them and they truly are a wonder in my eyes. But of course you already know all this and know too that one has to be face to face with this beautiful strong yet gentle creature to understand and know. Your review is most generous and has made my day. Never do I take reviews and commentary lightly. I very much look forward to turning to your page and work. It would be an honor. With all this said, here's a toast to the mighty horse himself.

Hey Lisa, you repeated stuff a few times in there. : P Ha ha ha me so funny. Okay - there is that of the 'good nature' that many horses have, in your poem. : )

The concept is just fine, and perfect as you did it - it's an evolving message; far be it from me to see any objections.

Good Afternoon Doug. (Ha Ha back) Yes, I know. I hope I didn't go too far with it. There are times repetition is necessary and I enjoy trying to incorporate that feature. I also know there are some who don't think that concept is right and don't believe in it but.... Thank you for such generosity Doug. Honestly. Have a wonderful night and I will turn to your page soon.

Seems I have come in contact with yet another talking horse. (Sorry, just horsing around) :) This was beautiful Lisa, a very majestic feeling poem that expresses the feeling of freedom and strength and exploration, whatever the season. I've noticed your notes before about repetitive phrases, but to me it is these repeating lines that really help build the momentum of the poem where the reader can imagine perfectly the wind in their hair and the beauty that surrounds them. Loved this one
