The Message

I BATTLE
                            AGAINST WHAT I’VE BEEN TAUGHT
                          WITH EVERYTHING I KNOW IS RIGHT
                                               I GO ON

                                TRYING TO KEEP MY SANITY
                                   THEY NAME ME A REBEL
                                  YOUNG, FREE, AND ALIVE
                                       A SPIRIT ON FIRE
                        TRYING NOT TO TURN COLD… HARDENED

                            THEY WANT ME TO BE LIKE THEM
                             THE SAME BATTLES NEVER WON
                        THEY WANT ME TO FIGHT THEIR CAUSE…
                                             CONFUSED

                            I KNOW WHAT THEY WANT FOR ME
                                YET I KNOW WHAT I BELIEVE…
                                           SLOW DEATH

                                      IF I KEEP MY BELIEFS
                                      THEY DRIVE ME OUT
                                      IF I FIGHT FOR THEM
                                    MY SPIRIT DIES CRYING…

                                         ONE
                                               LONELY
                                                         CHILD
