The Memory of Flowers

I bought flowers today
to forget about you.
So I can view the
spectacle they make
on my bedside table
and not think of you,
and how they will die:
having completed
their entire time on
earth never learning
what I cannot unknow--
the shade of your eyes;
the sound of your voice;
the weight of your feet,
walking away.

Lovely lines... they made me think of someone in my life who crossed over a few months ago. I cherish her beautiful memories...

Some memories are, indeed, unforgetable. Very beautiful writing. Congratulations!
