The Melancholic, Death and Selena

Pity me, my love
Press your lips against my cheek as I gasp for air one last time
Oh how I crave your touch
Every being has its own time, make an  exception and take me before mine
Withinside I am beyond rot
Every thought is of a rope with a knot
Shall I give in?, I surely hope not
That would undo the victories of every battle I have fought
For it is a great sin to give in to such thoughts
That's why it should be your hand not mine to finally end this song
It plays in my mind, it makes me cry, reminds me of all I've done wrong
In my sleep, on my mount, kiss me whenever lover I will not resist

Salvation has come
Selena, the angel, has restored my heart
The maggots have all but died out
My cheeks can finally meet my eyes
She took the song and changed the words, now every note is bliss
I've found love, consummation, surely there's no greater joy than this
Exnovia, disregard my former statements
I was lost, rotten, and undeniably hopeless
I sought you, chased you and yet my efforts were not met with adequate reciprocation
You had your time to act, Exnovia, I invited you to my heart and my home
Now my heart belongs to Selena, my new home
Take heed for she guards it jealousy, for she loves me so
My former thoughts and words were fruitless, vain even, I request that you treat them so
