The Meeting Place
Sunday morning, and we have bright sunshine.
I'm awake, and alert, having slept just fine!
First a shower, and a meal; then I'm on my way;
Cuz I'm headed for the meeting place today.
There's my neighbor, so I say hello.
He is also up and ready to go.
His wife has been ill, but now she's okay.
Yeah, they're bound for the meeting place today.
I pull up at the stop sign out on the main road,
And wait for James and Mary, and their stationwagon load.
Behind them is Bert, hauling a load of hay.
They're all going to the meeting place today!
Now we're traveling along, at a decent speed.
Up front is Fred--he always takes the lead.
The only place he'll go on a Sunday
Is to the meeting place today.
Twenty cars create a small convoy.
All are excited, and prepared to enjoy
Sunday brunch at the restaurant with"Meeting Place" on the sign.
That's their meeting place, but it is not mine.
I'm heading for my church, and some spiritual eating!
Now that's my favorite kind of meeting.
The Lord Jesus will return--perhaps even today!
Will you be feeding your face, or will you find time to pray?
