The Measure of Greatness
The Measure of Greatness is lost to the world
Unacknowledged, unknown, unarticulated
By prophets, priests, and kings
And yet, the real potential exists
In each one of us
To be great
There are two kinds of people
The ones who try
In every situation
To make good, ethical, and moral decisions
For the benefit of everyone
While the rest, just do, what they want
When you do what is right, or try
You draw down, a Heavenly Power
The power to know, and discern
Right from wrong, good from bad
And properly assess, people and situations
To respond appropriately
Also, to understand, cause and effect
To know what to do, in critical moments
To keep yourself, and your family
Safe from harm, and unintended consequences
And to make wise decisions
For yourself, and those you love
Indeed, you know this is true
For you know both types
And that people
Who choose the right
Are leaders
Admired, emulated, elevated
Leaned on, and celebrated
While those who do, whatever
Never do change, not even
In the course of a lifetime
They remain, always
Who they were
As children
This is real, an actual Heavenly gift
The power to change people
And the world
If recognized by the world
A solution, among many
For Heaven on Earth
The difference between those who try
Always, to do what is right
And those who do, only what they want
Is called:
The Measure of Greatness
And it can happen to you!
