The Many Colored Robes He Wore

The Many Colored Robes He Wore

The many colored robes he wore
Gave priestly rank and set him apart;
His faded socks, best of his poor store,
They drew him to a repentant heart.

In faith, uttered he words soothing fears
And sweet wondrous words from his heart.
Tending masses- holding back his loving tears
Prayed he all, a blessed and godly new start.

Through infinite quiet and its deepest sound
Into darkness and its ancient hollow hold.
He won battles with truest faith unbound,
And prayers of epic blessings retold.

The many colored robes he wore
Gave priestly rank and set him apart;
His faded socks, best of his poor store,
They drew him to a repentant heart.

Inspiring and touching. The poor are always with us and our greatest blessings can only be received by giving all away.

Ah, this one makes the reader reflect. You drew our attention to the nobility of his servant heart and the purity of intent. A wonderful flow to this tender write, Robert. 7. :-)

Sorry Gail that message to Ruben jumped. Thanks for commenting and once many priests endured very much and demanded so very little. As the act of truly giving was enough for them. Appreciate your commenting.

Thanks Ruben. I tend to like to repeat worthy stanza's to send the message all the way home. In today's world priests are not really known for enduring poverty themselves but once many priests thought nothing of it if the situation demanded it. The act of truly giving was important and acknowledged far more back then. Thanks for commenting.
