The Lullaby of the Crescent Moon
The crescent moon that dances ‘cross the sky is shining softly through my window pane, and smiling gently from his perch on high while humming tender notes of love’s refrain. The magic of this bright celestial orb is tempting passions of this mortal man, but thoughts of her are harder to absorb while longing tender touches of her hand. Alone I’m sitting in my rocking chair as darkness fills the corners of my mind; I’m lost in tender thoughts of one so fair, and reaching for the dreams I long to find. I wonder if she’s gazing at this moon, and if she too can hear his tender tune.

I am going to believe she was looking and hearing the moons tender hums at the same time he was. Beautiful write John. Hugs, Emilia : )

Lovers minds tend to think alike even when they’re not together, I have to believe they were both hearing the moon’s tender song. I’m a hopeless romantic. :) Hugs, John

I love it where you said I wonder if she’s looking at the moon, also. That really tied up a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing :) Peace, Angie

Well, this is one of the most refreshing opuses I've ever read on this expansive platform. Your rhyming finesse portrays a long-practiced putting of pen to paper...clearly aimed at producing something finer than the mere coming up with pretty anything of the sheer, ubiquitous poetic shape. I sincerely admire this truly laudable literary masterstroke and its accordingly deserving inditer!

That crescent moon can croon a lovely tune, esp. when John Gondolf pens it with a feathery plume! Congrats on your win in Brian's contest. Lunar Loveliness, Gershon

"I wonder if she’s gazing at this moon, and if she too can hear his tender tune" Such a beautiful thought. The moon is magical, so it can bring hearts together. With this being said, I believe she can hear his sweet melody. This is so dreamy and romantic. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy
