The Loud Cries, Brightest Depths Of Summer Hues
The loud cries, brightest depths of summer hues!
Gold gleaming on broad fields of flashing grain;
Numerous as if sands upon sea shore
Nature wouldst this beauty never deny
Spring's great new glory in its birthing pains
The loud cries, brightest depths of summer hues!
The meritorious winds, summer's love!
The adventure of red fox hunt and chase;
Passionate and true as lovers implore
Lust for the living and heart's softer steps
Cupid's deep thrusts, arrow's fruits not erase
The meritorious winds, summer's love!
The sweetness of summer songs have now fled!
The angry wasps have forsaken their nests:
Dried hanging as if to be never more
Death wouldst dar'est accursed dark levies take
Living heart from singing in mortal chests
