In Chicago: Sabbath candle-lighting 4:07 p.m. Friday.

       Sabbath ends Saturday 5:08 p.m.

The Sabbath comes in so soon Unlike lazy Fridays in June A light lunch, say grace, turn around The sun on it's way out of town A long night is a gift for sleeping Sabbath rest, all of us keeping But once again, short is the day Synagogue, meal and snooze ~ ~ Goodbye, Saturday

Gives one a little stability and meaningful routine to be a part of. Great way to spend a day of rest and worship. Bill

Interesting point you've made, Bill. 'Stability and routine' are vastly underrated, esp. these days. Man craves a foundation and a framework from which to operate. :) gw

A delightful slice of the rhythm of your Sabbath experience through the seasons, Gershon. "Good-bye Saturday" indeed. Sending you blessings of light and shalom.
