The Living Hum

I listen on your belly
Moist subcutaneous gurgles
Brown nipples above my eyes
Your fingers stroke my brow

Fleshy mines inside
Gastric wonders active hive
Imagined by the sound
The living hum

My heart is thumping mad

I remember my husband listening to my stomach when I was pregnant with my eldest. It was precious, I felt precious and lucky to give him this love and feel his gratitude and love for what I was giving him.

I would have never though listening to someone's stomach gurgle could inspire such a romantic write, David. Keep your heart thumping and your pen writing. It's really nice to have you active here again. Love, Carolyn
