The List

His name is Bob and he is a mechanic
He suffers from liver disease
But doesn't panic

He is in need of a transplant
It's very urgent
He hasn't had a drink in seven months

He has a wife and a daughter who just graduated from law school
She offers him some champaign to celebrate n asks if that's cool

He refuses but she insists
He has just one glass then takes a seat

He's been waiting for six months
And today we finally found a donor
He is so excited and his family could not be happier

The tests results show a percentage of alcohol in his bloodstream
And now this changes everything

Today I inform him and his family that he can no longer receive a new liver
Immediately he begins to quiver

He has been placed at the bottom of the list and there's nothing I can do
Some rules just cannot be bent
We should all follow through
