We have those birds here. They are not a natural species in America but was shipped in to be caged birds for people to have as pets. There was an accident and they escaped. I enjoy seeing those Finches here at my home. They come to nest in the braces to the porch every year. I usually try to put out some seed for them and other birds but have not done that this year. A beautiful Haiku you have written about them. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

Nice touch! ... I'm straining to hear any birds chirping lately. It got cooler this week in Chicago, though the temperature's supposed to rebound this weekend. We'll see... :) gw

You know, the past decade, we've seen robins, cardinals and sparrows, as well as, blackbirds that have not flown south; the majority still do, but there are always some with puffed out chests, freezing on my garage roof in winter. Thanks for stopping by Gershon.
