The Light of Life

You created the light of the day You created the light of the night You yourself Lord have begotten The precious light of life In the beginning your word Brought forth two lights One for the night and one for the day Sun and moon to give us comfort And to light our way But yet one light was missing So into darkness we did stray Being trapped there by our own Sin nature with no hope of getting free Then one day you sent the light of life To save us from our sins and drive away The darkness that we once lived in So now resting in your mighty hand We know we are secure Never to be snatched away By the evil one who stalks this world You can find me on Instagram and on poetrysoup.com
