The Life-Giving Downpour
The sun, a tyrant, reigns with scorching might,
Days bleed together, a suffocating night.
My soul parched, I yearned for a cleansing rain,
To wash away sorrow and ease the sun's pain.
A tremor in the air, a whisper on the breeze,
The clouds gather close, promising sweet release.
The first drops fall, a melody so sweet,
A gentle caress on the parched earth's cracked feet.
The sky erupts, a cathartic release,
Washing away sorrow, granting sweet, cool peace.
The earth drinks deeply, its thirst at last quenched,
With a sigh of relief, the world finally refreshed.
Laughter mingles with the drumming rain,
A joyous celebration, a cleansing refrain.
From my window's perch, a vibrant scene unfolds,
Leaves glistening green, a story yet untold.
A collective sigh, a balm for the weary soul,
Hope blossoms anew, as the storm makes us whole.
For in this downpour, a truth we all see,
We are one with the earth and the creatures that be.
