The Lie You Believe
It's a fleeting moment
a second in flight
when you heard it
not really comprehending it
not really having listened
but there it was
and you knew
but couldn't
wouldn't
shouldn't
accept it without question
and you knew the truth
it was the ultimate test
the exposure of your character
the reveal of your self
if you said nothing
and turned a blind eye
a deaf ear
it could
it would
become the lie you believe in.
