The Letter

The mail has just arrived, come quickly, my pocket holds his words. Read me his letter, I long to hear his voice. My loving dear, I miss you with each breath taken. My heart beats endlessly for you, I will be in your arms soon. Looks like he is coming home, but when? He does not say when, no date or time is given. It will be a welcomed surprise, I can't wait to see him. Now to write him back, I will tell him hello for you.

This is so poignant and heartfelt, when distance and not knowing when they would return, and having to wait and the only way one can feel their presence is through letters, can be felt and seen through this write really. I loved reading this. And felt this so much. Fave for me

It is a good thing we have mobile phones and emails these days... a lovely poem my friend.. must have been difficult in those days..
