The Left Hand of God

Memories of once the sun shined,
oiled and tanned we denied
the only living book and subtle nudges.
Nothing but truth in the grave
when too in love with everything
reached the top and found nothing
but the pain of a flame’s dedication
and an absolute conviction,
replays the familiar
screams and whispers them.
Strain a touch through the glare,
but they ain’t there.
No one left to save us
as we find common grace
included tears.

Hi Rob, I did not know the band or the song that inspired the poem, so I did some research. After learning more, I reread the poem. I take your poem to mean that we will find God's grace when we find our tearful common grace. I couldn't agree more and you have stated it so beautifully.

This is why I try to write the way I write, so different meanings can be rendered. My personal meaning is that the damned will be denied even tears in their eternity. I did not even think of yours, so I am glad you stopped by to comment.

A sublime muse, expressed in a great poetic way, tinges of sadness conveyed. I like how you say 'common grace and tears.' Kudos!! Plz do read and comment my newest poem too.

Very deep write, Rob, still difficult for me to understand between the lines. Nothing, but truth as the only thing that this brain understand anything else is very confusing to me. Living by Gods word is the only way for me. Thank you for your kind words. The doctors and nurses even though busy and overworked were all wonderful.. I am still weak , but will get there. Hugs Eve

A wonderful and clear message within this fine poem my friend. That we walk in darkness fearing the light will disturb our complacency- our own self interests and lusts. When we should be seeking light to better see our way! Seeking true word that can only be found in the bible. A fav-- a true gem too.. God bless.

I have not gotten it, many around me have. It is such a surreal experience, some are not affected while others lose several friends and/or family members. Thanks for reading and I will email you sometime soon.
