Notes About The Poem

The Kudzu Patch

Down yonder in the large-leafed kudzu patch
Where it is thick, silky, and very green
Clinging to gullied hills it tries to catch
Where young lovers tucked away, won't be seen

That is, if it is during mid-summer
And a couple can hide in the vines
But do you want to meet him with murmurs
Running around, that will be some grand lines

Is that a memory you want to face?
When you are old, worn, gray facing the judge
It is good that Jesus gives His grace
For through His grace, He erases every smudge

The summer kudzu patch is a nice green
Jesus in His grace is an awesome King

It makes you wonder "Is that a memory you want to face? When you are old, worn, gray facing the judge" And it made me smile.

Well penned, Kudzu creeps massively throughout the land; still, it's a beautiful view in some places. Enjoyed.

M.L., In some places it is about the only thing holding the hills together. Goats love it and will help clean it up. I am glad you enjoyed the read. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Debra, Sorry I had a typo in the word murmur. LOL. I did not catch it when I re-read it several times. Thanks for dropping by. The word mummer doesn't mean what I wanted to say. LOL..Thanks for dropping by. Sara
