Notes About The Poem

MANY THANKS TO MY 'PARTNER IN RHYME' NINA PARMENTER FOR MAKING ME GIGGLE SO MUCH DURING THE WRITING OF THIS POEM

The Knickerless Vicar - Contains Innuendo :- Collaboration With Nina Parmenter

For a man of the cloth, our dear vicar is not very partial to clothes He is almost allergic to trousers and y-fronts get right up his nose. Ev’ry Sunday as he climbs in the pulpit (where the choir boys are sitting below) His meat and two veg are seen swinging And it’s proof that he is commando The ladies who bake and do flowers don’t know if to scream or to peek but Olga the Organist’s smiling and she’s practising eight days a week! At this year’s summer fete it was breezy and the wind, I’m afraid, took its toll His cassock blew up to his waistline as he served up the last sausage roll I've heard when he goes on vacation He suns himself on a nudist beach and his wife applies his sun lotion to stop his tush looking like a ripe peach 03/14/20

What makes this even more hilarious to me is that a close relative told me about a man at her church that did the same thing, sat up front and "winked" at the ladies. His wife pretended not to notice.

GREAT job, you two. I really enjoyed this. Who wrote the line about the organist practicing 8 days a week? I liked many lines, but that was my favorite.

It was Nina's line but my edit was to make it from 5 to 8 days for comedic effect!!!:-) hugs Jan xx

Are you KIDDING ME! A Jan/Nina collab! My week is complete! Olga the Organist isn't the only one who's smiling! Seriously, if you two put out a book - I'll be the first in line to buy! Great write, and just the kind of mirth I needed. Concerned parents everywhere thank you for the topline warning, lol! A fav... big, smiling, (fully clothed) hugs to you both! ~ John
