Notes About The Poem

Jesus said, no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend.  I think He was saying that He was going to the cross to die for all those  who would become His followers, but did He mean that we love Him if we lay down self and follow Him. 

The Journey Within

The journey within is a rocky road
A trip long overdue
Where do I stand now with my love for you
For the right place I've searched 
Has your residence changed since my last visit
                        Or have I changed, Jesus
Have I laid down my life for you or others
Have I held onto it
This journey is difficult, should I quit
No, I will continue

Who are my friends, would I give up my life
This journey is tiring
Could I go home, I think it is time~ to 
Leave this quest and sleep, sleep
Maybe I'll come back another fine day
To search for this place that has changed since~ when
I don't know how long since
There was a journey within searching for 
                               My true motivation

Yes, sometimes we get off track and we miss the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ our Lord. Sometimes we do what we do for the wrong motivation/s. In silence, as an observer to thoughts and emotions, we become void-centric and then connected with universal consciousness, if heart be pure, the answers come in automatically.
