The Jealous Poet

I envy the poets Who fill each line With colorful action Of every kind. Who rhyme On a dime And open the mind's door To so much more Insight and thought, Trapped and caught, Than I ever knew was there. It just doesn't seem fair That I am left scribbling words Whilst they are writing in colorful flocks of birds. by E. Marshall Evans

Thank you, sir. Enjoyed your My Garden - My Sanctuary. Someone once said if you have a garden and a library you have all you need in life. Not sure about that, but I do enjoy my garden.

Simple and direct. My peeve is poetry full of words one must look up in the dictionary and by the time you finish the piece you no longer give a damn. Enjoyed. Congrats on the selection. daver

Thanks, Daver Austin. Been scribbling poems for about 57 years, so I quickly ran through all the "thees" and "thous" and convoluted thoughts. Now it's just "Who hit John" and move on.

Red Cardinals galore, Sara Kendrick. Spring, hopefully, is in full swing. Beans, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes of several varieties, and bell peppers all doing well. But our crazy weather this year has me watching predictions and ready to cover up if needed!

Thanks, Linda. Think we've all shared a touch of jealousy when reading the results of the very talented. A lot of nice people commenting, so thank for the welcome. Not sure I'm ready for contests yet, but will keep yours in mind.

Thanks for the welcome, SKAT. Brand new here so still finding my way around. Don't know if this is like Facebook where you designate friends or like life where you simply say "Hi" and enjoy one another's company now and then. As for me my profile pretty much covers it; husband for 49 years, father to five adults, grandfather to 12, retired U.S. Marine, retired Pastor, and a poet ever since my high school English teacher gave extra credit for poetry.

LOL! Thanks for the validation, BG. This comes from an entry in the Poem A Day exercise since April is National Poetry Month. Soooo many excellent submissions there, although I've been writing for a lifetime, my envy of so many got the best of me and it just rhymed out!

I think we are related..I often feel just the same way...However, seems like your not so bad at the rhyme and flow. I really enjoyed. BG
