The Importance of Remembering Their Sacrifice

So many make many sacrifices
but nothing can ever truly compare
to those who've given their lives
for our freedom, that is very rare

In the conflict of bloody war
where blood is spilt by the few
for the sake of many to be free
this is our obligation forever to do

Listen to their cries in death
the anguish they felt so deep
our debt is one we cannot pay
remember them we must always keep

Mankind speaks of finding peace
but war takes them to the brink
there they lose all their sense
so let's remember by our ink!

(Remembrance Sunday in the UK last Sunday, so this is written to commemorate this important event.)

Hello Gordon … war seems so futile when we consider the losses of family and husbands and for the sacrifices it isn’t long before another flare up. Remembering our service men and women must always be a priority - thank you Gordon - Lindsay
