The Illusion

The morning skies looked dark and dangerous upon the wild shore. Mist rolled in upon the waves. She stood and looked in silence as the waves broke over the rocks. What she thought was movement was no more.
Deep in thought she did not see him as he approached with cat like grace but felt rather than saw his presence.
2.
He wanted to catch a closer glimpse of her face. He moved in and out among the large rocks He had seen her here before. This lady in the blue dress. Something kept drawing him back to catch glimpses of her. He had seen her walk this way in the mist many times before.
Never intruding on her privacy yet somehow today was different.
3.
She did not have to turn around nor see his face. She always felt his presence like so many times before. He invaded her dreams drawing her here to this spot many times before.
If she bared her soul and opened her heart. Revealed her dreams her innermost desires would he understand. An unstoppable force in this dense atmosphere that called out to her. As she stood by the moving waves listening to the flowing rhythm like so many times before. In this unchangeable place. Would he understand or even care about this bond they both share. She somehow doubted he could or would

Your poetic prose is captivating, Phyllis. These two both sense each other's presence...do they sense what they truly feel on the inside!? The mist shrouds the scene in mystery. Is it illusion...is it the start of reality!? Still pondering... // paul
