For the dangers of Snarks that are Boojums, see the excellent field research reported by Lewis Carroll in The Hunting of the Snark. Unfortunately, the technique given here for confronting Snarks of this nature was not available in the 19th Century, leading to the tragedy he relates.

The hunting of Boojumous Snark, It ain't but no kind of a lark. It's best to wear lead, From toes to the head, And aim 'twixt the eyes with a quark.
