The Hunters

Years have passed
time upon time
civilizations have come and gone
and this truth remains:
Men are still hunters

The hunt remains
as long as the prey escapes
Once caught
and the hunter devours
the pursuit is on for another....

Women are still gatherers
The gather words
Thinking them precious
nourishing for the soul
They still gather
caresses and kisses
Tender words
affection's bliss

Women are still gatherers
gatherers of hunter heads

Flesh hunters, soul gatherers, heart eaters, mind trappers...men and women, curious competitors for a common conquest...to be lionized, to be worshiped...to be loved...strange creatures...its all very beautiful Eileen...J.A.B.

Witty and satirical write, Eileen. Generalization does not bother me here; read it with a smile ... and a big grin when I came to the final two lines! Of course it works both ways! As to fruit salad....I always put some special ones to the side...and leave them for last:) hugs // paul

My sweet Dr Upma....So glad to have your visit and smile here on my page. A woman can be a huntress....it's true, but I just felt like having a jab at men. You know how I get sometimes. Thank you for your lovely post. Hugs

Thanks ever so much, Nette. We are the fairer sex and the stronger sex, in many ways.

As a male I do not see myself as a hunter, for hunting has a sinister intent. I too am a gatherer of words so for me this seems an over generalization although I suspect for some men this is true. I also know the same can be said for some women.

Yes, Richard. Not all men can be lumped together. It's true. I don't see you that way at all. However, just to give you a funny slat to this. Someone once said: Women are like fruit. Each comes in her own special size and shape and texture. The problem is that men like fruit salad. ;) There you have it. There you have it. I tend to agree. Thanks for your lovely visit. You are always welcome on my page.

Yes men are hunters...So We'd better let our heart soar high never to be caught,or have a specialized course in their trade: ) Big smile.I really like this .
