the drunks stagger
that will not satisfy
the taste is gamey
though they put up little fight
I seek a battle to last all night

Should I accept the truth
the perfect company for a romp is rare
they balk at this sardonic wolf stare
they back down from my alpha cries
but maybe tonight...

they fawn and fetch a log

but sit and stay and even play bow way
but then they run away, on to their next bone
