The Human Spirit
Human spirit is like a fountain,
ever towering like a mountain;
It is a flame, so clear and bright,
that dwarfs even the brightest light.
It is a beacon flying high,
rising brightly towards the sky;
It is a flare, so chaste and pure,
like the blaze of a rapture.
It soars up high to the skyline seam
to give up light in brightest beam;
It dives down in the deepest sea
like a cool wind, wild and free.
It is a fighter, brave and strong,
it does not dwell in fault and wrong;
It finds its strength in smile and laugh
even if the tides are rough.
For human spirit is a wonder
that tames even the wildest thunder;
It is the flame of God Divine
that burns whether in rain or shine.
If you shall faint in test of fate,
let your spirit guide your faith;
For those who dare the sands of dune
will thrive to sing their fabled tune.
