* I am a shameless Harry Potter fan, (movies, books, etc.), more so, even, than my kids, lol. *

I lay upon the rocks and trembled, cold While all around the darkened waters burned And just beneath the surface there, untold Vast numbers of Inferi writhed and churned It took some moments for my head to clear And come to senses that the lad was gone Thus fighting through the foggy veil of fear On hands and knees I hunted for my wand A spell I had not cause to use for ages Propelled the fire as streaks into the lake And as the dead retreated in their rages The boy arose uninjured from their wake And tho' we jeopardized our lives to come The phony Horcrux left us bleak ... and numb.

A wonderful description of that scene from Dumbledore's point of view. Magical!

I've not been a Harry Potter fan, but your poem may draw me into being one.

My kids worked on me for a while, and I kept refusing, thinking it was a kids' story, then I read the first book ... and was HOOKED! She is such a superb writer, and has an amazing talent for drawing you in to the characters - love it! Thank you for the comment! :-) <3
