The Heron Waits

Humidity’s blanket rests upon the pond frogs draped in lurid air idle on glazed lily pads waxed turtles gleam amid the dance of hazy heat a silent duck preens as dragonflies swim through moistened air the heron waits. John G. Lawless ©8/19/2019
