The Hearts Hope
When I was a young girl
Dreaming of the future
My hopes of love were…
Centered in sincere affection
I wanted someone I could love
With all of my heart and soul
Someone who was strong and good
And someone who understood me
I wanted someone I could laugh with
Someone who smiled and giggled
Felt all the joy I felt myself
And listened to all that I was feeling
I wanted someone I could appreciate
Someone who could hear my dreams
And be prepared to make them dance
Before my eyes, in kindness – delighting
When I was a young girl – long ago
I dreamed of a future with the one
Who would love me forever, completely
With a love that would last eternally
What I wanted was you, my beloved
My friend, my confidant, my heart
The one who reminds me why I care
Fulfills all the hope I used to have
Thank you, my love – for your best
You’re my best friend, best man
Best dream and best of everything!
