The Heart That Would Not Quit

Have you heard of the man
Whose eyes were jabbed out with razor sharp knives
And he still sees the world even though he's blind?

Have you heard of the woman
Whose ears were destroyed by an unfortunate illness
And she still hears her peers even though she's deaf?

Have you heard of the man
Whose voice was lost by ways cruel and brute
And he still speaks the truth even though he's mute

Have you heard of the woman
Who was struck by lightning and electrified
And she still moves the world even though she's paralyzed?

Have you heard of the man
Who was stabbed seven times and took a shot to the head
And his heart continues to beat even though he's dead?
