The Heart Of Night

The heart of Night pierced by first light, Sol gives birth to a brand new day. And the flowers instinctively; begin opening their petals. Shadows scurry back into cracks, the heart of Night pierced by first light. And color steps from the shadows, as the moon completes its cycle. A spectacular sun rises to once more push back the darkness. The heart of Night pierced by first light, the sun illuminates the sky. Dusk and Dawn are a package deal, for light and dark are conjoined twins. Dawn retrieves the day that Dusk lost, the heart of Night pierced by first light.

I stared at my screen watching shadows scurry back into cracks, and color emerge from the shadows. You created movement as I watched the petals open and sunrise push back the darkness. Unique descriptive passages unlike any other I have ever read. Over a month now since an Emile poem. I miss you. I may not have the time to comment but I always read them with delight. I miss your contests too. They are always a challenge. Best wishes.

One of my favorite forms, and one of my favorite topics (day and night, dawn and dusk). Fetching and filled with sparkling imagery Emile. :)

Very neat, Emile. I especially like your line, 'Shadows scurry back into cracks.' Very picturesque indeed. Blessings, John.
