The Heart

You could smell it. from light-years afar a tourniquet grasp of saffron soil in a swooshing flame is inscribed on the plains armrest. you've outdone yourself with this one, dear Sotto! Your vocabulary and metaphors are delicious and meticulously written. I found myself lost in the intricacies of your flowing and descriptive lines. I liked how you dubbed the heart a heavenly sanctuary. I enjoyed escaping for a while in your words. Have a pleasant evening, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara

Ah dr sotto! What a brilliant and beautiful write this is as always, youve written a poem that flows with exquisite metaphors and such descriptive lines so well articulated! I always enjoy your free verse and how you weave words! Especially lines such as “ The grassland dips in revealing slabs of an ancient utopia the focal halftone of a floating forehead features “ excellent use of alliterations and diction! “to be buried as an enigma in the depths of her soul” so evocative and touching! Dear Sotto... Throughout your poem, sensory details are so vivid, from the scent of saffron soil to the pulsing ache of torn lobes. These details not only ground the reader in the physical landscape but also serve to heighten the emotional resonance of the speaker's journey... In the final lines, it speaks of sprinting into the "intricacies of a heavenly sanctuary dubbed heart," suggesting a longing for sanctuary and belonging. So well written..
