The Heart-Shaped Piñata

They gather ‘round it
All the young’uns
Brandishing augmented timber
With rusted pointy steel at the tip.
Impending over their prey,
Smiling, laughing,
No blindfold required.
The heart-shaped piñata
Still, silent, almost breathing;
Ready for the punishment to come:
The ravenous embrace.
The digging of sharp metal
And splinters spliced within.
Lusting over
The soon to be bled sweets.
Pounding mercilessly and forever.
