The Haunting Image

It was quite “hazy” in the cold evening
I slithered into my childhood memories.

One day, through my room’s window panes
I stared at the dissipating white clouds.
A diabolical “shadowy” image appeared as if it
Plunged from “ethereal” or an” imaginary” land,
Moved towards me stretching its fore- limbs,
I was too young to realize that it was” surreal.”

It was a “dreamlike”; but every day I encountered
The same monstrous figure in the dark sky
I was nonplussed at the haunting frame.
How could I disregard it as “unreal”?
Stood in my chamber puzzled almost “trancelike”

When I expressed the same to my granny,
She laughed and said, “Stop reading fairy tales.”
