The Green Man
The Green Man
Blue cap
Green shirt
Kaki trousers
And black shoes
Underneath
I don’t know
Could be green
His fave
He hefts the cap
He smile exposing
The milky teeth
The snowish teeth and
The coalish gums show
The classicla dilemma of
White and black
Grasps the English-colour pants
Glares and
On my hickory table
He sees
Seductive butterfly
Birdwing butterfly
Prominently green
The colour seduces him more
The green man!
“Good afternoon,” he says
“I mean the butterfly!”
Green man lives
And loves
Wants to fly
Like butterfly
