The Greatest Gift Ever Given

This quiet night the earth was still.
A Virgin birth would be fulfilled.
A real bright star would lead their way,
to a manger, so far away.
The Magi's gifts were for a King.
Frankincense , Myrrh, and Gold, to bring.
Mary's miracle comes to life, as
Joseph watched with great surprise.
This precious scene, God-Child arrives.
As the Magi's hear, the baby's cries.
Simeon asked to hold the son,
for he knows, he's the Holy one.
Amazing grace was felt within.
As they all praised, the new born King.
Jesus, Jesus this gift from God.
He sent for us from up above.
Oh Holy Night the Angels sing,
to us is brought, a new born King.
Dying for us and then risen.
The greatest gift, ever given.

Did you know that the three gifts the
Magi brought the new born Jesus had
very special meaning? The Frankincense
symbolized Jesus Divinity and Godly role.
The Gold symbolized Jesus Kingship, and
the Myrrh symbolized Jesus death and
Embalming fragrance. The greatest gifts
didn't come from the Magi. It came from
Jesus, for Jesus gave up his life and died
for us so by repenting and believing in
him he promises forgiveness and
everlasting life in Heaven. The Greatest
Gift Ever Given was Jesus himself to die
and take our penalty of sin, a man who
never sinned. How great was he?

Wishing Everyone Peace, Love and Joy
during Christmas, God bless you all...

One of things that astonishes me about God the Father is allowing his son to be treated as he was by sinners. As I have matured in my faith, I realized I was there too, mistreating Christ. God's patience is incredible and beyond my comprehension. Great poem who have written for Jesus Christ is our only hope.

Truly, the greatest gift our world has ever received was unwrapped in a manger in Bethlehem on a cold, winter night! Love your explanation of the symbolism in the Magi's gifts. Just had the opportunity of looking up Myrrh and Frankincense for another poem and discovered that while myrrh is an embalming spice it is also revered for its healing powers! Gives that gift an extra meaning! Sending you and your family all the blessings of this season blessed by majestic hope and healing.

So very true my friend. You said it Victor. How is that for Humility. I heard a sermon on your exact words by Pastor Les Feldick just the other day. How Humble is our God and Savior the king of all kings, the creator of Heaven and Earth, the universe, the Stars, all things to be resting in a stall full of farm animals ... A story that is true to Billions of people that adore and Love our Savior. God ble with you Victor and heal you...

- Beautifully written, Michael - Many around the world, including me, honor Mary because she was the mother of Jesus - We read in the New Testament, how she was visited by the angel Gabriel who could tell that she was going to be a mother - Most especially, because she was a virgin - and the child that was to be born - was to bear the name Jesus - he was to save his people from their sins - If this had happened today, no one would believe it - Merry Christmas

I wish you a Joyous Christmas Anne-Lise with the ones you love. Stay safe out there, have fun, and be happy with the ones you love...

I didn't know the three gifts the kings had brought for infant Jesus had such symbolic significance. Yes, they were never the greatest gifts. For us, there is even a greater gift.... son of God born into the world to redeem all sinners like us! Beautiful Christmas poem, Michael. Wish you and your family a Merry Christmas!

Thank you Hilda for your statement. Christ died for all of us. If he did not die we would all sadly go to hell. So God sent his only Son to die for us. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness be sincere about it, repent, accept and believe in Jesus, follow his commandments and you will be forgiven and you Hilda will be brought to live in heaven for ever with Jesus and all you love that have gone there. He promises you this... God bless you Hilda and have a Joyful and safe Christmas...
